English Language

All students undergo training in linguistics, literature, and written and spoken English to develop their abilities and broaden their knowledge of the English-speaking world. To earn a BA in English, students in the Modern Languages Department must pass a total of 128 credit hours and satisfy the requirements in the following categories. First, student must pass 23 credit hours of university requirements, 14 of which are obligatory and 9 are university electives. Second, they must take 9 credit hours of faculty requirements. Third, they must take 90 credit hours of departmental requirements, of which 45 are obligatory, 21 are chosen from electives and 24 correspond to their choice of track (either translation or communication). Finally, students must take 6 credit hours of free electives. The total number of credit hours required for a BA Degree in English is thus 128.
