Master in International Law and Diplomacy

The AAUP has long been working on creation of the program Master in International Law and Diplomacy. The aim of the program is to provide the Palestinian university students with a higher level of theoretical knowledge, skills, qualifications and analytical abilities in the field of international law and its various branches, especially its relationship with diplomacy and the contemporary international system in the era of globalization. It also aims to work hard to create theoretical approaches and to review global practical experiences linking advanced and contemporary topics in international and humanitarian law not only with diplomacy and international contexts but also with the settlement of human rights concepts, serious diplomatic work, public diplomacy and new media diplomacy supported by social media. This will be an important national lever not only for the students at the program and the Arab American University but also for the Palestinian political decision-makers and for the employees of the international organizations, the institutions of the State of Palestine and other governmental and non-governmental organizations working on the Palestinian territory.

LEARNING OUTCOME

  • Graduates will be professionals in the fields associated with international law.
  • Graduates have scientific research skills in the field of international law.
  • Graduates will have special knowledge especially in the field of diplomatic and consular laws, as well as the law of international organizations.
  • Graduates will have the ability to advocate from a rational scientific basis, human rights and diplomatic perspectives.
  • Graduates will be aware of issues at the local, regional and global levels and will be able to develop arguments on these issues.
  • Graduates will be able to pursue their PhDs in the field of international law.
