AAUP concluded the five days TV Broadcasting training course, which was organized under collaboration with Al Jazeera Media Institute. 28 participants_ including students from Arabic and Media department and some journalists and media presenters_ finished this training that came among Al Jazeera ambassadors program.
Prof Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri- the University President, Eng. Bara Asfour- Assistant to the President, Mr. Hasan Yassin- VP for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Mo’ayyad Abu Saa’- the VP for Academic Affairs, Dr. Said Abu Mo’alla- Media Professor, the training course participants and Ms. Salma Al Jamal- the course trainer all attended the conclusion ceremony of the training course.
Prof Abu Zuhri thanked Al Jazeera Media Institute and Ms. Salma AL Jamal during the ceremony and congratulated the participants and said: “Ms. Salma Al Jamal represents a successful example for Palestinians in Diaspora. This distinguish TV broadcasting training course that was organized under joint collaboration with Al Jazeera Media Institute was very successful. We will seek to develop future relations with different Arabic media organizations and with Al Jazeera institution. This institution reflected high credibility and proficiency in the training to improve our students’ skills and enhance their knowledge, to prepare them for the local and regional labor market after graduation.”
Prof. Abu Zuhri added that the University will keep its doors open for all the Palestinian experts from around the world, and will always be initiative to grab every chance to invite them to visit the University and transfer their experiences to its students and professors. This comes as part of the university’s philosophy that this AAUP is “A University for all Palestinians”.
Additionally, Prof. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri talked about how the university is considering the possibility of changing the Arabic Language and Media department into a Faculty for Media that focuses on visual, audible and written media. And so, the university is about to complete the preparation that will enable this transformation.
In her speech, Ms. Salma Al Jamal expressed her happiness to be in AAUP, and explained that this course was a great chance to transfer her experience as a media presenter to students and to other media presenters. This course helped in enhancing the participants’ skills and answered the question that was asked at the beginning of the training course “Will we continue in this aspect or not?” Ms. Al Jamal asserted that she felt the great passion for education, improvement and diligence in participants, especially as they regularly attended the course and this helped in completing the course successfully.
She wished the best for all participants whom she knew they have capabilities to excellence this sector.
At the end of her speech, Ms. Salma said: “I am proud that I was part of this experience in this university in my country Palestine. During the course I have provided you with knowledge and skills but you have offered lots of love, positive energy, beautiful spirit and information and knowledge. You have become my new family in Palestine.”
Furthermore, Ms. Al Jamal thanked AAUP hoping the collaboration between the University and Al Jazeera Media Institute will continue. She explained that Al Jazeera ambassadors program is an ambitious program that have reached many places, and that the institute has a special vision to Palestine comes from the importance of its cause that need to be supported especially in media.
Dr. Sa’id Abu Mo’alla- the Media Professor in his speech said that Ms. Salma Al Jamal is a great human being, modest and full of love and positive energy. She has a passion to know Palestine and its people. Moreover, she was creative in the training course and she provided participants with everything she has from experience to advice, guidance and knowledge. And during her visit to Palestine, and her tours in the Palestinian cities, everybody noticed her modest, good spirit and love. At the end of his speech, Dr. Mo’alla said: “Salma Al Jamal came here representing Al Jazeera ambassador program, and we tell her that she is the ambassador of Palestine wherever she works and goes, thank you for your efforts.”
Participants of students and media presenter expressed that this course has added a lot to their knowledge. They explained how their meetings with Ms. Salma were fruitful and excellent, wishing that the university will continue to provide more of such courses that can enhance their skills and provide them with guidance to continue their way in the media aspect.
At the end of the ceremony, Prof. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri honored Ms. Salma for her efforts in enhancing the skills of participants wishing her more successful achievements.
