Microsoft Company said in a report published on its official website, “Arab American University embarks on digital transformation journey in its work”. Confirming that the university is ambitious, works hard with all its power to establish IT infrastructure emulates great international foundations and organizations to be fully functional to its tasks high efficiency and fulfill students, staff and faculty members needs.
Microsoft gave a brief on the university “Founded in 2000, The Arab American University (AAU) in Jenin is the first private Palestinian university. AAUP provides quality education for students from different parts of the region. Collaborating with California State University and Utah State University, AAUP aspires to be a leader in higher education by serving the educational needs of its students within a dynamic learning atmosphere that inspires innovation and personal success”.
Microsoft mentioned that AAUP made major success and this digital transformation will help reducing inherited unites to manage finance, purchasing and warehousing needs and get rid of manual paper works.
In its report, University President Assistant for IT Affairs Mr. Bahgat Ayasi said “A major benefit for applying Microsoft Dynamics system is the almost total eradication of paperwork. That’s being achieved by the improved IT environment the new system helped to move to full electronic document management”.
“Applying the Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) had a major effect in an educational institute such as the Arab American University. At the user level, reports keep coming back that the applications people use every day, from Word to Excel, are so much more stable and reliable, now. Productivity has been raised, while at the important level of finance, that department is so much happier that it has deep visibility into processes and knows the financial state of the university.”, Ayasi continued.
University President Dr. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri congratulated this major achievement, confirming the university's keenness and readiness to apply universal technology concepts to improve its administrative operations efficiency and effectiveness. Praising efforts of university Chairman of Board of Directors Dr. Yousef Asfour and board members for their generous financial support providing these programs and constant encouragement of the university, confirming that we in Palestine have the energies and competencies to take us to be international in serving educational process and Palestinian students. Also praised University President Assistant for Administrative and Financial Affairs Mr. Faleh Abu Arra efforts, contribution and follow-up success of applying the new system financially and administratively.
