With participation of 30 couches from different West Bank governorates, Palestinian Volleyball Federation officially opened its International first-level volleyball championship at Arab American University, hosted by the international volleyball expert, Mr. Mohammad Khalil.
The opening was attended by Fathi Imour, the university’s PR Manager, Mr. Adnan Abu- Farha, Chairman of the Palestine Association Competitions Committee, and Mr. Oday Daraghmeh, lecturer and Director of sports facilities.
Mr. Imour welcomed attendees and stressed that the university highly values physical education and sports of all kinds, it has established a sports village that includes a grand football stadium, a gymnasium, an Olympic pool, in addition to outdoor sports fields and courts accessible to students of the Faculty of Sports and Palestinian athletes. Mr. Imour added that the university is always open to host local sports championships, activities and events in cooperation with the Palestinian Association, as well as hosting international events.
Mr. Abu- Farha thanked the university and expressed the importance of this championship in raising the value and popularity of volleyball for sports teams and leagues in Palestine.
Mr. Kahlil noted that “the championship will be held 8 hours a day for 5 days and will focus on physical and technical training for beginners and pass on experience to them about everything new and significant in volleyball.
