Attended by Dr. Samer Arqawi- Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Hasan Yaseen- the VP for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Nizam Diab- VP for Training Affairs and representatives of the continuous education departments from all universities and AAUP academic and staff members, the Continuous Education Department in AAUP has organized a workshop entitled “Continuous education in the Palestinian universities: Reality and Ambition”.
The workshop aimed to discuss the role that the continuous education programs in the Palestinian universities do in enhancing the community responsibilities, the main problems and obstacles that the centers face and the future of the continuous education and its effect on the local and international community.
The workshop started by Dr. Khaled Attyeh – the Head of the Continuous Education Department in AAUP speech as he welcomed the guests and talked about the center in AAUP. He explained that the center provides education and training chances for students and for the local community with modern facilities. Also he clarified that the center aims to upgrade the students’ level corresponding to AAUP’s vision.
Dr. Hassan Yaseen- the VP for Administrative and Financial Affairs explained how AAUP always seeks to develop its academic side to be compatible with the labor market needs, and seeks to develop the scientific research and provide services to the local community. He indicated that the continuous education center is one of the most important centers in AAUP that provides the local community with many chances.
Mr. Sa’id Abu Mo’alla- a Professor in the Media Department in AAUP talked about the goals of the continuous education, while Dr. Samer Arqawi - Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education in his speech talked about the problems that face the continuous education. On the other hand, Dr. Khaled Atteyeh – the Head of the Continuous Education Center in AAUP talked about the role of the continuous education programs in the Palestinian universities and how those programs help in enhancing the community responsibilities.
