AAUP Hosts Events Supporting Cancer Awareness under the slogan of "Let the universe hear" In the presence of the Governor of Jenin, Major General Akram Rajoub, and officials and civil figures.
The activities started with a scout march organized by Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences in partnership with the Palestinian Medical Relief. Then a speech assuring the importance supporting patients psychologically and financially, praising the role of supporting institutions and thanking AAUP for hosting such activities and events.
A football match was held among university students to support cancer patients. The children were able to participate in the match with penalty kicks.
The University and the Palestinian Medical Relief Society organized an awareness- workshop on the annual detection of breast cancer, entitled "Check Now, hope and Safety" in cooperation with Al-Matala Hospital.
The Dean of the Faculties of Allied Medical Sciences and Nursing, Dr. Mohammed Asia, attended the workshop along with the Director of the Palestinian Medical Relief Society in Jenin, Jamil Al-Hamad, the representative of Al-Mutala hospital in Jerusalem Dr. Ahmed Abu Halawa, and the Director of Women's Health Programs in Medical Relief Dr. Khadija Jarrar.
The activities were launched by a marching show involving the Zababda marching team, which toured around the university. Where banners were raised emphasize the need to check and detect earlier breast cancer.
Faculty of Nursing at Arab American University organized an awareness day for breast cancer prevention and make medical examinations for diabetics, in cooperation with the Palestinian Medical Relief, Al-Motala Hospital in Jerusalem and sponsored by the United Nations Population Fund.
It marks the month of raising awareness for breast cancer prevention and awareness campaigns serving university students and employees.
The day included, free “Mammography” tests were conducted to detect breast cancer, spread awareness on diabetes prevention, foot and retina examinations, general diabetes test, present educational video on breast cancer and distributing awareness leaflets explaining the importance of dealing with it with caution, periodic testing and choose healthy diet.
