Aiming to enhance relations and academic collaboration between both universities and working for future experience and students mobility, the Faculty of Graduate Studies in AAUP organized an academic meeting between graduate students in the Conflict Resolution program in AAUP and BA, Masters and PhD Students from the program “Conflict Analyzing and Resolution” from George Mason University in Virginia- Washington.
Dr. Dalal Iriqat- the VP for International Relations said that AAUP is planning to start an academic collaboration with George Mason University, especially that George Mason University is considered to be a leader in conflict analyzing and resolution. Dr. Iriqat explained that the strategy and policy of AAUP is to always seek to build international academic relations that include students and faculty mobility with international universities to enrich the Palestinian academic experience by learning from others experiences.
The Faculty of Sciences in AAUP has organized a lecture entitled “Arab Islamic Medicine: between Traditions and Scientific Research” and hosted Dr.Bashar Sa’d – a Researcher in Biology and member of the Faculty of Sciences staff. The lecture was attended by Deans, Head of Departments and university students.
Dr. Seba Shank – the Dean of the Faculty of Sciences started the lecture by welcoming the audience and explaining that this lecture is one of the series lectures that will be organized by the scientific committee of the faculty. Those lectures enhance the scientific relations between other departments and faculties in the university. Dr. Shanak also introduced Dr. Bashar Sa’d indicating that he was one of the first staff who joined AAUP, he has many scientific researches and hold the degree of professorship.
The Faculty of Law in AAUP organized a lecture about the “Challenges Facing the Waqf Funds in Palestine” where it hosted Mr. Mahmoud Aabed – the Director of Registering andDocumentation in the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs
Dr. Khair Al-Deen Talib- the Head of the Fiqeh and Law Department in AAUP opened the lecture by welcoming the guests, and asserting the importance of this lecture to understand the Waqf and public properties and how it is related to our Palestinian reality.
