Acceptance Instructions
- Applications for admission are accepted each semester. Students are asked to carefully read the instructions that accompany the application for admission.
- The Arab American University accepts students in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Palestinian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
- The applicant must have earned an bachelor and master certificate, and the certificate earned that qualifies him / her to join the chosen specialization.
- The ability of choosing a program is also limited to the minimum score requirements in the bachelor and master certificate GPA .
- Students will be accepted in the different programs on a competitive basis according to their average in the bachelor and master certificate.
- Students with a bachelor or master certificate other than a Palestinian, will have their averages computed according to the University Council or Council of Higher Education regulations.
- Prospective students can apply online using (www.aaup.edu/apply).
- To obtain the application from the Deanship of Admission and Registration and is filled manually, then the applicant submits the application to the deanship of admission and registration at Jenin or at Ramallah campus. (Apply for PhD in Information Technology Engineering)
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FROM STUDENTS

- Transcript of high school diploma certified / or its equivalent by the Palestinian Ministry of Education.
- National Identity Card (local applicants) or passport (international applicants)
- Original birth certificate or a copy duly certified. (local applicants)
- Personal photo. ( count 2 )
- Original or Legalized copies of Academic Certificate and Transcript. ( certified by the Palestinian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research)
- Two letters of recommendation either academic or professional.
- A motivation written and signed by the applicant. ( one to three pages )
- Original experience certificate (English) if found (Mandatory for applicants to Master of Business Administration - MBA program joint with Indiana University - Pennsylvania, USA).
- Up-to-date resume (only for applicants to Master of Business Administration - MBA program joint with Indiana University - Pennsylvania, USA).
- A sealed transcript from the undergraduate university (Transcripts from foreign universities must be legalized and accredited by the Palestinian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research).
- Applicants for Master of Business Administration - MBA program joint with Indiana University - Pennsylvania, USA, must submit the required documents in English (2 Copies)

Academic System and Student Load
The normal course load for a full-time student during any semester (spring or fall) is considered to range from 6-12 credit hours. Such a load allows students the opportunity to complete the requirements of the master’s degree in four semesters, except for Master of Business Administration (MBA).
The course load for the PhD in Business program is 18 credit hours per academic year.
As for the PhD in Information Technology Engineering program, Thesis hours are calculated within the course load. The maximum course load for the summer semester is 6 credit hours. The student must be free for a period of no less than two regular semesters while working on the thesis.
