Ms. Ibtesam Abu Alhaija is a water and climate change expert in the field of the agricultural sector for more than 20 year, she works with the Ministry of Agriculture as the Director of Drought and Climate Change Department, she began her work as an agricultural water and irrigation expert then she starts working in the field of climate change as she was the head of the agricultural sector team who had developed the Agricultural National Adoption Plan, she is the Ministry of Agriculture representative in the National Climate Change committee.
Ms. Abu Alhaija holds the master degree in Water and Environmental Science, from BirZiet University 2015, and a bachelor degree in agriculture with major in soil and irrigation, she is also a certified trainer in the field of management skills.
Ms. Abu Alhaija was a member of many projects related the climate change adoption in the agricultural sector since 2009 until now. And she leads the agricultural and FAO team who prepared the first Mitigation project the was successfully applied to the NAMA farcicality entitled ” Low Carbon Olive Value Chain Development in Palestine ”.
Ms. Abu Alhaija strongly supports climate change work and, through her daily work and family life, tries to spread the culture of mitigating the effects of climate change.
